Train to Gain - Funding for Training

Learning and Skills Council

The Government is keen to help with the training and education of full level 2 & 3 qualifications and where appropriate the college will invoke government funding to support the training we offer.

Whenever we can the college and the LSC will help with the funding provision.

piggybankNational Employer Training Programme (Train2Gain)

Train to Gain is a new service designed to help businesses get the training they need to succeed by funding NVQs at Level 2.  Train to Gain has been rolled out nationally across England and has been developed from the highly successful Employer Training Pilots.  It can help businesses improve their productivity and competitiveness by ensuring that staff have the right skills to do the best job.  Train to Gain is aimed primarily at businesses of 250 employees or less, who might not ordinarily engage in training, or release employees for training. Small organisations (fewer than 50 employees) can apply for financial support to meet the cost of staff taking time out of work when training under the Train to Gain service.  Employees can benefit from the service if their skill levels are below NVQ level 2 or equivalent, and can also be given funded Literacy, Language and Numeracy support where required.
